McWilliams ultimately wanted to eliminate their requirement for pre-printed paper. Problems continually arose having to monitor and re-order paper stocks to then print to unreliable dot matrix printers. The system was hard to control and also made the implementation of change a time consuming and costly exercise.

McWilliams needed a more graphically impressive layout that would standardise print communication within offices across five states. The new system had to be simple to operate yet flexible.

IT staff within McWilliams, who had previous experience with XLPrint products, suggested Paris running on their NT server, could be the solution they were looking for.

McWilliams have also been able to direct pages, of sometimes large print runs, to multiple paper trays. This enabled the creation of consignmentnotes, traditionally presented on three different coloured papers, which was an initial concern when switching to an automated system."
